A Thought for Ibinabo – By Charles Novia
Nollywood film director, producer, Charles Novia has on his website, written his thoughts for embattled actress, Ibinabo Fiberesima, who lost her case at the Appeal Court on Friday and was sent to jail.
"Ibinabo Fiberisima lost her appeal yesterday at the courts and was immediately sent to jail.
It was the culmination of an ordeal both she and the family of the late Doctor have gone through for ten years.
I am not going to say anyone was wrong nor would I say anyone was right. We must all realise that there are powerful emotional interests in this case on both sides and each would have merit when analysed.
A family breadwinner gone. Another family breadwinner sent to do the time as recompense.
We all must learn from this; the Law is sacrosanct. The Law is real.
On a personal level, Ibinabo is my friend. She’s been a wonderful friend to me for over fifteen years and I suppose she has touched the lives too of some who know her personally. I can only express angst that she’s in jail and stand with her during her ordeal as a show of motivation and encouragement. She needs that outstretched hand to survive the ordeal. And that’s what a friend should do. A friend shares in your pains and stands by you. And there are many in the entertainment industry who are doing same for Ibinabo.
Not because we are angry with the judgment. Oh no. We respect the law. We all live in a society bound by the laws. We bow to the law and believe in the processes which are legally open to her to seek some form of clemency.
But we are a family in Nollywood; despite open spats. The bond artistes share is more than bloodlines. And for that, we must stand and share with our friend.
Once again, I commiserate with the family of the late Doctor and add to the prayers that God give them great fortitude to bear the loss of their loving breadwinner.
I believe forgiveness has to come in here to heal the wounds. Forgiveness from all parties. There were basic mistakes made; human flaws, human nature and perhaps inappropriate show of understanding.
But a hurt starts healing when forgiveness is applied. The family of the late Doctor have had their justice and the law has spoken. But we urge for personal forgiveness. Let the healing start.
Ibinabo….you will pull through this. You are a strong woman. A rare breed. You will be ok. And your friends will not abandon you. We will help you find your silver lining in all of this.
And most importantly; we all must learn from this.
Entertainers are humans. They are not demi-gods. They make mistakes like everyone else and suffer for the consequences of such mistakes.
But they have an advantage which many not of their ilk do not have; the ability to bounce back. The uncanny propensity to take the second chance and make something positive out of it.
And I believe Ibinabo would do just that."

Vice President Osinbajo’s Trip To India Cancelled Due To Protocol Error, and Realization Saraki Would Be Acting President
Vice President of Nigeria,Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has made a last-minute cancelation of a trip to India owing to protocol blunders by the Protocol Department of the Presidency as well as a realization that Senate President Bukola Saraki would have had to act as President for a couple of days. Mr. Saraki is currently embroiled in a trial for corruption that he and his legal team are using all kinds of controversial maneuvers to beat.
“When the President and VP are out of town, the running of the country will fall automatically into the hands of the Senate President,” a Presidency official told SaharaReporters. He added, “We did not want the awkwardness that would come with that scenario.”
It was learned that a 27-member delegation, including the VP and two ministers, were scheduled to travel to India for a conference. But Mr. Osinbajo’s trip was shelved when the Presidency’s protocol team discovered at the last minute that President Muhammadu Buhari was also going to travel to Equatorial Guinea on Sunday for a state visit that is scheduled to start on Monday.
Mr. Osinbajo’s trip to India, which was billed to end on Wednesday, would have meant that Nigeria would for more than two days be without its first two citizens, leaving the reins of power in the hands of Senate President Saraki. A source close to the VP stated that the prospect of Mr. Saraki’s assumption of presidential powers could not be tolerated in view of the ethical clouds around the senate president.
According to Sahara reporters, the VP Osinbajo had already sent his advance party to India, and had booked hotels and made arrangements for ground transportation, all at a cost of $250,000, before the cancelation of the trip on Saturday.
A source at the Presidency blamed the State Chief of Protocol (SCOP), Lawal Abdullahi Kazaure, as well as the protocol team for the near-blunder. “The president’s protocol chief, Malam Kazaure, and the protocol department again displayed great incompetence here,” a source at the Presidency fumed. “They ought to have caught the issue earlier before it cost Nigeria a huge sum of money,” he added.

Dead woman's sister forced to use blade to remove twins from her belly (Viewer discretion)
A Cameroonian pregnant woman got to the hospital in a taxi and upon arrival she was found dead, but the twins in her belly were hitting (crying for air). The family rushed her to Laquantini Hospital in Douala Cameroon and begged the doctors to remove the babies but they refused and asked the woman's family to take her to the morgue.
The family argued that the babies were still alive and kicking inside the dead woman but the hospital refused to touch her, frustrating the deceased's sister, who took matters in her own hands and decided to operate on her sister with a blade. One baby came out dead and the other came out breathing but later gave up the ghost. See more photos below...*viewer discretion*
