The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has beefed up security in and around airports in the country. This is following the Tuesday’s terrorist attack on the Brussels Airport in Belgium.
The General Manager, Corporate Affairs of FAAN, Mr Yakubu Dati, said this on Wednesday in Lagos.
The statement said that sniffer dogs had been deployed to airports in conjunction with the Nigerian Police and other security agencies.
According to the statement, FAAN will not leave any stone unturned to ensure maximum security at the airports, especially with the Easter celebrations around the corner.
The statement said that a special taskforce from the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) were on ground to apprehend touts.
It also said that all the body scanners and Close Circuit Television (CCTV) were operational and beaming activities of all at the airports. It advised passengers to arrive the airport on time to do their normal check in procedures in order not to miss their flights.
