Former mayor of New York and billionaire Michael Bloomberg has urged Independents to vote for 'sane' Hillary Clinton. Bloomberg, who has been a Republican, Democrat and Independent, called for electing Clinton ‘not for party loyalty but for love of country,’ as he hammered Donald Trump.
‘Trump says he wants to run the nation like he’s running his business? God help us,’ Bloomberg says, after pointing out the fellow moguls bankruptcies and tendency to file lawsuits. I’m a New Yorker, and I know a con when I see one,’ he said, in another one of the darts he threw at Trump.
Bloomberg knows both Clinton and Trump from his three terms serving as mayor of New York City. After lacing into Trump, he hailed Clinton as a ’sane, competent person with international experience.’
‘I understand the appeal of a businessman president. But Trump's business plan is a disaster in the making,’ Bloomberg said.
‘He would make it harder for small businesses to compete, do great damage to our economy, threaten the retirement savings of millions of Americans, lead to greater debt and more unemployment, erode our influence in the world, and make our communities less safe,’ Bloomberg continued.
‘The bottom line is: Trump is a risky, reckless, and radical choice. And we can't afford to make that choice.’
