Serena Williams said she was feeling relaxed about her hopes of defending her French Open crown on Friday and drawing level with Steffi Graf’s Open Era record of 22 Grand Slam singles titles.
The 34-year-old, whose two previous attempts to retain the title at Roland Garros ended prematurely, will begin her defence against Slovakia’s Magdalena Rybarikova, the world number 76, who has yet to make it beyond the second round in Paris.

Chinese Boy throws Dagger into Schoolmates Head over minor argument


A 13-year-old school boy has accidentally thrown a dagger at the head of his schoolmate, leaving her to die.  The 12-year-old nicknamed Lin was leaving a park in Dongguan, in China, with her friends on May 16 when the boy threw the six inches blade in the direction of the group which stuck in the back of her head.

Breaking!!! Another Chibok girl rescued


Another Chibok school girl has been reportedly rescued from Sambisa forest, making her the second in recent times. The girl identified as, Serah Luka, a daughter of Pastor Luka was released on Thursday.

The army spokesman, Colonel Sani Usman in the statement released early Friday morning, he identified the girl while also explaining the circumstances that led to her rescue.

Pistorius set to be released from jail October 20

Oscar Pistorius, the double-amputee Olympic runner who shot his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, to death on Valentine’s Day 2013, can leave prison and move to house arrest next week, South Africa’s Department of Corrections said yesterday.
A parole board at the prison where Pistorius has served nearly a year of his five-year sentence for manslaughter made the decision. It came after an initial ruling to release the athlete in August was canceled at the last minute after intervention by the justice minister.
