I Can't Honor Any Invitation From The DSS, Ekiti SSG

Modupe Alade, the Secretary to the Ekiti State Government (SSG), stated that she will not honor any invitation from the officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Thursday.

Mrs. Alade, speaking to journalists at a secret press briefing, said she had been receiving strange calls from individuals from the DSS using fake names and is now being threatened to report to the Abuja office of the security agency.
Mrs. Alade is wanted in connection to ongoing investigations into Ekiti State lawmakers' money laundering crimes.
“Since Tuesday, I have been receiving some strange telephone calls from unknown persons. One person called from the number +447442364448 and identified himself as Paul Okafor. He said that I should report myself to the DSS office in Abuja,” Mrs. Alade said.
The SSG noted that members of Governor Ayodele Fayose’s campaign organization were also being harassed and threatened by DSS officers.
Mrs. Alade said the DSS officials have been violating the Nigerian constitution and truncating democracy by arresting lawmakers and the Commissioner for Finance in the State. Meanwhile, the federal government remains silent.
One of the SSG’s aides secretly spoke with a SaharaReporters correspondent during the press briefing and explained why it was held in Ondo State rather than in Ekiti State.
"This briefing was arranged in Akure by the SSG with the knowledge of Governor Ayodele Fayose and some members of his cabinet in order to downplay the tension already building up in Ekiti State. We just have to seek alternative means of rooting this message outside Ekiti State and by coming down to Akure, we can address the journalists here about the state of commotion in Ekiti State,” she said.
Our source also noted that Ekiti State legislators frequently hold press briefings in Lagos State and Abuja.
“We felt the State is no longer secure for us in doing something similar and we can't risk losing our lives over this perceived injustice on our leaders.”
