'Who knows, you might get a free trip to Cyprus': Egyptian travel company slammed for using plane hijacking to PROMOTE its holidays

A SHAMELESS Egyptian travel company used yesterday’s airliner hijacking drama in an advert - suggesting travellers may get a free trip to Cyprus.

Lions Trips wasted no time cashing in on the drama by posting an ad to Facebook.
The travel firm cheekily suggested its trips to Hurghada, a beach resort on the Red Sea, could turn into a trip to Cyprus.

Written in Arabic the post reads: “Book a flight from us to Hurghada [a city in Egypt]... and maybe a hijacker will take you to Cyprus. Or roll the dice and maybe it will be France or Italy.”
It sparked a furious backlash online with many labelling it heartless.
Lions Trips seemed to lap up the attention the stunt had caused.

It came just hours after an Egyptian man took control of a plane using a fake, homemade ‘suicide belt’ which turned out to be nothing but iPhone cases.
Seif Eldin Mustafa made a series of bizarre demands and redirected the plane from Cairo to Cyprus.
Meanwhile, Mustafa was today remanded into police custody for eight days following his first court appearance.
